A world-class wild national park. Packed with picturesque views. Populated with rugged peaks of the Pyrenees. Breathtaking trails winding through the mountains.
The Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park occupies the northwestern corner of Catalonia, tucked away in the Upper Central Pyrenees.
The national park consists of 2 particular sections: the Aigüestortes in the west and the Estany de Sant Maurici in the east.
The wild mountain region is approximately 54 square miles, or 141 square kilometres, and holds an endless supply of trails and routes for trekkers to explore.
High mountains of granite and slate peak at 3,000 meters above sea level, over 200 lakes scattered across the park, gushing waterfalls and winding streams.
Gems among the rough and rugged landscape include the mythical mountain of Els Encantats (2,747m) that is a symbol of the park, the imposing Peguera Peak with impressive panoramas at the top, and the high Monestero Lake hugged by all angles by giant piles of rocks.
Potential participants must be aged 12 years old or above, as well as having a generally good level of fitness.

Mountain Leader
My father and grandfather taught me to love the mountains from a very young age. At 12, I did my first rappel... down the wall of the village church (the priest wasn't there). That's where it all started...
I'm passionate about nature, climbing, mountaineering and ski touring and have been calling the Lleida Pyrenees home for as long as I can remember.
WHAT DEFINES ME: Responsibility, discipline, gratitude, passion, respect
As a UIMLA-mountain leader, I have led trips and expeditions in America (Peru, US and Canada), the Alps, the High Atlas and even Ladakh (Indian Himalaya) and Yamalia (Russian Arctic). Since 2014, I am in charge of snow and avalanche training at ACNA (Asociación Conocimiento Nieves y Aludes).
I am also an accredited canyoning, via ferrata and kayak guide and Wilderness guide Level 2 in Arctic/Polar regions.
For me, guiding is not work: it is my passion. Each trip and expedition provides a new chance to discover and share what surrounds us. Respect for the environment, nature and local culture are at the basis of my philosophy of life, which I try to share with joy.

We had a wonderful time with Ramon - he was extremely helpful, approachable, and professional from the start. He was also very knowledgeable and experienced, and very flexible, accommodating and adaptable in the face of changing circumstances. Unfortunately we were not able to do the planned route on Day 2 due to the snow conditions and the high risk of avalanche but Ramon planned an alternative route instead which was very attractive and culminated in a stunning frozen lake nestled in a basin, surrounded by peaks on all sides - a wonderfully serene and almost otherworldly location. Our experience with Ramon was very positive, and we had an enriching and life-affirming 3 days. My only suggestion would be to perhaps inform guests ahead of time about what conditions they can expect in the hut (conditions in huts can vary hugely, particularly when it comes to huts that are closed) to make sure that we are fully prepared. I would not hesitate to use Explore Share again, and I hope that we can stay in touch with Ramon and plan future adventures. :)

I made the trip with a friend. Ramon is a knowledgable guide, he supported us in every way possible before and during the hike. We were not only dazzled by the breathtaking views but also what we learned about biodiversity was a bonus. We loved this 3-day trip! Thanks Ramon!
