Following a ridge to reach a peak is one of the most beautiful activities we can do in the mountains, but if that mountain is the Pedraforca it turns into an irresistible adventure, like a siren call we cannot avoid!
This amazing 1-day climb near Barcelona takes you to the top of Pedraforca (2506m), one of the most emblematic mountains in Catalonia, via the Cresta dels Cabirols, the most elegant way to reach the summit.
Although there are some rock climbing sections and two rappels, the ascent is suitable for almost all mountaineers with the will the explore something beyond the regular routes of every peak.
Pedraforca lies in the Sierra del Cadí, in the Spanish Pyrenees, in the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, near Barcelona. The activity is quite long and takes the whole day, with a total elevation change of about 1000 meters, but it is absolutely worth, as the reward is amazing.
We will meet up very early in the parking, and after checking out backpacks we will start walking towards the refuge, where in our way back to the car we can stop and have a drink.
The approach time to the ridge takes about 2 hours. In a grassy terrace, we will put on our climbing equipment and we will start climbing the ridge up to the summit. The descent will be done following the Coll de Verdet Route, which will allow us to continue through a rocky terrain and cover all the north face of this mountain, which is more than 500 meters high and full of rock climbing routes.
The whole activity will take us about 8 to 10 hours, always in mountainous terrain. No previous rock climbing experience is required, although as it is a mountain ridge, all the itinerary is aerial, so the climb is not recommended for people with vertigo with fear of heights.
If you want to climb Pedraforca, don’t hesitate to contact us! Book your trip and join us on this climb via the Cresta dels Cabirols. We’ll have a blast!

Mountain Guide
Right in the heart of Catalonia, well connected with Barcelona, stands the Montserrat massif; a mountain with big natural, cultural and spiritual significance that rises sharply to 1,236 meters from the top of St. Jeroni.
I organize guided activities and courses of all levels, and offer the possibility to discover this fantastic mountain accompanied by a professional certified guide.
Along with all these activities in Montserrat, I can guide you over all the natural sites of Catalonia and the Pyrenees, a region with a wide range of possibilities for trekkers, hikers, climbers, etc.
I promote the use of sustainable transportation (train, zipper, funicular) and the development of activities that stimulate in participants a feeling of belonging to the places he or she visits. This perception of belonging, as we work with feelings and perceptions, can perfectly be assimilated to a sense of spirituality.
Our main activities are:
Spiritual values of Nature for private, groups or companies
Rock climbing
Hiking
