Description

Let me guide you on this adventure to the summit of Austria’s highest and most famous peak, Grossglockner (3,798m). Venture with me into this 2-day mountaineering trip.

Because this is a very famous mountain, many people attempt to reach its summit. So, I will guide take you to my favorite secret spots and less crowded places. And, we’ll take the Studlgrat’s crest, a variant of the normal route, which is normally busier. But, this variant has equally impressive views and thrilling patches.

The itinerary I recommend is to begin at Lucknerhaus. Then we’ll begin our trek towards the Studlhutte Refuge. This charming mountain hut is located in the Hohe Tauern National Park, right at the foot of Grossglockner. So we can enjoy some of the most mesmerizing views of the peak and the park.

During our second day I suggest we leave early morning. And, after a delicious and nutritious breakfast we head to a glacier that adorns these paths with its magnificent beauty. Then, we’ll pass a steep and short climb until we reach a ridge.  Finally, we’ll find a final stretch of snow that will lead us directly to the summit of Grossglockner.

Once we reach the summit, the views you’ll get and the pure air you’ll breath, will be completely worth it!

Due to the type of ascent and mountain, please note that this climb is classified as a difficult one. Even though the technical difficulties are not high, it requires a good physical condition and previous experience with crampons.

Also, this trip is only for 2 participants. So, it is a more intimate trip and I can make sure you are safe the whole time.

If you want to join this adventure, send me a request. I promise you’ll have a wonderful time ascending the Grossglockner. You can also check this 4-days multi-pitch climbing trip in Sardinia that I guide too.

Mountain Guide

Born in a small mountain village, in the Valis del Natisone area, I grew up surrounded by mountains, which I learned from my childhood. Great spaces, sense of freedom and love for nature were the first great feelings I learned to make mine.

From the top of the mountains that shelter my country I saw others, much more impressive, and from here came the desire to discover new horizons, new landscapes and even larger spaces. And here I quickly travel all the Julian Alps, in the summer (for the normal routes first and then for railways and climbing routes) and in winter with the skis, discovering a passion that gradually becomes bigger and that brings me, in a few years, to discover the beauty of all the Alps.

In the footsteps of the great alpinists I have retraced a large part of the itineraries that have made the history of this that, in my opinion, is not just a sport activity but a lifestyle, which puts us in the conditions to live the mountain in all its aspects and to live the time as it is marked by the passing of the seasons.

The desire to transmit these emotions to other people and allow them to live in complete safety and freedom, has led me to face the strict path necessary to become Mountain Guide, a passion became a profession for the love of the mountain, its people and the his silences.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
