Description

Gerlach Peak is the highest peak in the High Tatras, in Slovakia. From the top of this peak (2665m) you have the entire mountain range at your fingertips.

It is also the most famous and most visited mountain in the Tatras. And a favorite among climbers! Routes of every level of difficulty lead to the summit. It is a true rock climber’s paradise.

There is an option for everyone. First, there is the easier, more classic route over the Velicka or Batizovska próba. Then, the longer and more demading Tatarkova route. And there are also several hiking paths that won’t take you to the summit but that are also fun and very scenic!

None of the routes to the Gerlach summit should be underestimated. All of them are challenging and physically demanding all-day tours. You need to have some climbing experience and also be in optimal physical condition.

If you are looking for an even bigger challenge, you could also decide to combine several ascents. The High Tatras are not just Gerlach Peak! Don’t hesitate to ask about other itinerary options.

So join me on this incredible ascent to the Gerlach summit. Contact me and we’ll start planning your trip to the beautiful High Tatras! It will be a memorable trip!

Mountain Guide

I've been skiing and climbing since my early childhood. I graduated in 2005 from the Univerzity of Hradec Kralove with a Master degree at the Faculty of Education. Since then I worked as a history and PE teacher. I was also running an Outdoor sport's club at that time, spending plenty of time climbing, skiing etc. with my students.

In 2009, I became a full time skiing and climbing instructor.

Licences:
2009 – APUL C ski instructor
2010 – APUL B ski instructor
2011 – APUL telemark and snowboard
2012 – ISIA Mark (International ski instructors association)
– MSMT climbing instructor and Mountain leader
2013 – entered the UIAGM mountain guide education
2014 – passed the UIAGM Aspirant exam.
2015 - Succeeded the UIAGM / IFMGA final exam

Spending your holiday with you would be my pleasure. Whether in winter on a ski tour (in Czech Republic or Austria) or in summer among the spectacular sandstone towers.

It will be, with no doubt, a very pleasant experience for all of us. I'm an easygoing, friendly and reliable person with a good sense for responsibility.

Don't hesitate to get in touch with me !

Jan was amazing, professional, funny, and inspirational. The way he dealt with us and individuals whilst having a joint venture. The climb was amazing, the route selected was perfect for ability. I proposed to my girlfriend at the summit after that amazing ridge. She said yes, Jan was in on it and accommodated this without sacrificing safety. We look forward to using Jan's services again. He was by far the best IMG I have used. Words cannot thank enough for the experience.
