Cross Country Ski and Snowshoeing day, New York

Get ready for a day full of exciting activities! Close to New York City, we'll escape the city hassle for a day and go cross country skiing AND snowshoeing in this beautiful paradise. Join me for a unique adventure in the Appalachians.

We'll begin our fantastic day reviewing the basics of cross country skiing and the equipment you'll be using that day. After that, I'll show you the trails you can use depending on your skill level. We'll then share a lunch together at a warm lodge and get ready for the second part of the day: snowshoeing! I'll give you a review of the equipment and technique and we're off.

Make sure to bring a backpack with lunch and snacks, at least two liters of water, chapstick and sunscreen, hat, gloves and an extra pair of wool socks. I also recommend you bring a thermos of hot soup, tea, or coffee. You should wear weather-appropriate and comfortable clothing, waterproof hiking boots, and ski or snowboarding gear, including a warm, waterproof jacket. Also, have ready dry clothes and shoes for the ride home.
