As you may know, Dachstein is a very impressive mountain in Austria. It is also the highest peak in the Salzkammergut Alps and Upper Austria. The Dachstein is located on the border between Upper Austria and Styria and it’s the highest point in each of those states as well.
The Dachstein region has many great options for splitboarders for all levels, beginners as well as experienced snowboarders. Most of the territory offers steep slopes where to live amazing ski descents. All those tracks are accessible with both splitboard and snowshoes.
Based on the conditions and your level I will guide you in different part of Dachstein. Here are some of them.
This is a high altitude tour heading south through the Edelgrießkar at 2736m. This is one of the best tours to do in the Dachstein area.
The Guttenberghaus is a mountain hut situated at 2146 m above sea level and it is the highest hut of Styria. Its surrounding area offers numerous opportunities for splitboarding tours. After a hard skiing day we can enjoy a warm and comfortable dinner and spend the night there.
Another amazing spot of the Austrian district of Salzkammergut. Since 1997 the landscape of Hallstatt-Dachstein is considered a World Heritage Site by Unesco. A perfect place for some splitboarding tours!
I can take with me a maximum of 6 people. All participants must have some snow and avalanche knowledge. You must know how to use an avalanche transceiver.
I have a scheduled departure in February 2018 that you can join. For other dates, I can offer you a private guided tour.
So, if you find this splitboarding trip exciting and want to join me, please get in touch with me. Let’s enjoy a unique and wild experience in Dachstein together!
