Located in the east of Cape Town, in the Kogelberg Mountains, the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve is a nature reserve that shows an enormous variety of flora. It is considered to be one of the largest biodiversity spots in the world. This is where our program takes place.
This 1-day hike is a wonderful opportunity to observe and learn about nature. There are more than 1,800 plant species in the reserve, such as Erica and Protea. There are also several plants that are endemic to the area, so they can only be found here. While hiking, we’ll show you the different plants and provide you with plenty of interesting information about them.
Apart from the vegetation, we’ll also enjoy walking in a beautiful natural scenery and contemplate great views of the surrounding peaks, cliffs, rivers and rock formations.
Please, keep in mind that it’s important to have a good level of fitness for this trek.
