Description

Located in the southern end of Rocky Mountain National Park, near Estes Park, Longs Peak rises 14,259 feet above sea level.

Longs Peak is the northernmost 14er in Colorado and the highest point in Rocky Mountain National Park.

It is also one of the few 14ers in Colorado that can be hiked without using any technical equipment, which is exactly what we will do.

After meeting up at 3 am at the base of the mountain, we will begin our hike through the mountain forest and the peak's base. As the sun rises, we will make our way up above the tree line and begin a five mile section of hiking up switchbacks and across mountain streams until we reach Boulder Field.

This is where the fun will begin. For the last 1.5 miles, we will scramble across rocks and along wide ledges until we reach the summit.

After enjoying the view as well as some well-earned lunch, we will begin the descent and drive back into town.

So what are you waiting for? Book now for a challenging but incredible 1-day ascent of Longs Peak in the stunning beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park!

If you like the look of this trip, but want to split the journey up into two days, then you may also enjoy our 2-day ascent of Long's Peak!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
