There are a number of beautiful and magical volcanoes near Mexico City. And on this full-day trip, you will get to hike to the summit of one of the most stunning: Telapon (4,065m).
Along with peaks like Popocatepetl, Iztaccihuatl, Teyotl and Tlaloc, Telapon is an amazing volcano. And when you reach the peak’s summit, you will get to enjoy views of all of those aforementioned peaks, as well as landscape that seemingly goes on forever.
Despite the peak’s summit exceeding 4,000 meters, the journey to the top of Telapon is actually not very difficult. As a result, this trip is open to people of all skill levels. That means even families and children can enjoy the breathtaking journey to the summit!

Daniel was kind enough to pick me up promptly at the airport when I arrived. we drove straight to amecameca and bought a few supplies, we then drove to Popo park and set up camp. Daniel gave a class on crampons, walking sticks and the ice pick and then it was time to sleep and prepare for the early morning hike start. we set off around 0330 and reached the recluso at about 15,500 feet. it was an amazing experience with wonderful views.
