Day hike to the top of Mt. Mansfield via the Sunset Ridge Trail, near Stowe

Hiking to the summit of a mountain, any mountain, is definitely a memorable experience. And we would like to guide you through that experience to the summit of Mount Mansfied (1,340m), via the Sunset Ridge Trail.

Located in the state of Vermont, near the beautiful town of Stowe, Mount Mansfield is a great peak. And while it is not nearly as high or enormous as other, more famous peaks, it is nonetheless a wonderful peak that you can trek to the top in a single day!

The Sunset Ridge Trail is a gorgeous route to the top of the peak. Stretching approximately 3.3 miles, the trail will provide you with a number of unforgettable views that only get better the higher you go, until you reach the summit cone of the peak, also known as The Chin. Furthermore, from the top of the mountain, and along the trail at various points, you will also get to see other peaks in the Green Mountains like the Camel’s Hump. You will also be able to see Lake Champlain to the west.

This trek is not too difficult, as there are no technical aspects. However, any prior hiking experience is certainly beneficial. You should also be in good physical condition.
