Description

Gorgas Negras is a monumental canyon for bold, sport-loving types!

Steep, the gorge towers several feet above the river, which makes it ideal for plunging, swimming and abseiling. It is located in Sierra de Guara, pre-Pyrenees range, and has all the ingredients of a large-scale canyon.

The highlight of this 1-day trip is abseiling at spots as high as 18 metres. That is why it is mandatory that you have a good fitness level. At a technical level, it is only moderately difficult.

The activity in the Gorgas Negras lasts 4-5 hours. Once we reach the end of the canyon, I’ll offer you two options: either to walk back from the meadows of Chasa to Rodellar (1h30/ 2h) or to continue down the Alcanadre river. In the latter case, we’ll follow the next stretch of the river, known as Barrasil (2 h).

At the end of the day, you’ll need a good rest after this exhilarating activity in Gorgas Negras! But you will also go back to your hotel with a satisfied wholesome feeling.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland.
