Description

Join me in this 7-day snowshoeing adventure in Fanes, in the Fanes Sennes Braies Natural Park. It’s in fact one of the largest parks in the region, located entirely in the Dolomites.

This area is in particular ideal for snowshoeing. In addition, the landscape is incomparably beautiful. In addition, at the end of each day you can enjoy the comfort of the well equipped Fanes Hut.

The Monte Castello, the Fanessattelspitze, the Pareispitze and the Heiligkreuzkofel are some of the various destinations of the excursion. Below you will find the detailed daily program.

Itinerary

Day 1: Ascent to the Fanes Hut, 2060 m

We meet at 2PM at the Pederü Hut (1548 m) in the St Vigil Valley. Then we hike to the Fanes Hut, where we will enjoy dinner and talk about the program for the upcoming week.

Hiking duration: approx 2 hs

Day 2: Ciastel de Fanes, 2657 m

This introductory tour will take us to the “Heart of the Fanesalm”. The centrally located peak offers a good view.

Hiking duration: approx 4 hs

Day 3: Monte Castello, 2817 m

A tour with impressive mountain scenery. We hike up to the Limojoch, then down to the Big Fanesalm and then up through the Vallon Bianco. Today’s destination is the Bivacco della Pace hut (2760 m).
D+/- 900 m
Hiking duration: 6 hs

Day 4: Fanessattelspitze, 2655 m

We pass the “Kleine Fanesalm” through a wide valley and hike into a fascinating high valley before going up a short steep hill to the “St Antonio Pass” (2466 m).

Hiking duration: 5 hs

Day 5: Pareispitze, 2794 m

Over the “Passo di Limo” and the south rim we will reach this superb peak.

Hiking duration: 5 hs

Day 6: Heiligkreuzkofel, 2907 m

The most famous peak. Through the wide valleys of the “Kleinen Fanesalm”, we reach the “Kreuzkofeljoch”, from where we will hike up the long ridge to the peak of the “Heiligkreuzkofel”.

Day 7: Departure

After breakfast we leave the Fanes hut and hike back to the starting point of the tour, where we say goodbye.

Mountain Guide

Already at the age of 6 I ascended the Paternkofel in the Sesto Dolomites. After a few climbing routes in the Dolomites and the main alpine ridge, I attended a climbing course in the Landro.
Once I learned all the proper techniques, there was nothing to hold me back! I went with friends on an adventure through the Dolomites and the entire alpine arch. Later on, I toured through many different mountains in the world.
I can now pass this experience and I am always eager to travel with my guests and friends to the mountains.
Since 1997, I have guided mountain trips and ski tours throughout the Alps, Croatia, Slovenia, Norway, Valle Maira in Piedmont, Abruzzo and more.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge.
