Escape the city and spend a full day breathing cold, clear mountain air on a guided snowshoe from Milan to Valtournenche.
We’ll reach Valtournenche in about two hours from Milan and pause for a coffee before heading to the trailhead at Cheneil; the hike starts from Cheneil, we’ll stop for lunch on the summit, then return to Cheneil. Before the drive back to Milan (around two hours) we usually take a short break for a drink, and we expect to arrive in Milan at approximately 18:00 — exact timing depends on how long breaks take and traffic.
This medium-easy excursion is ideal for beginners, nature lovers, or anyone craving a hassle-free mountain escape: you don’t need to plan routes or rent equipment — we take care of logistics so you can focus on the scenery.
The descent is fun and often the highlight — expect fresh powder, peaceful silence, and the kind of raw Alpine beauty that feels far from the city.
All essential gear is provided, including snowshoes, trekking poles, waterproof trousers and an avalanche safety kit, and the guide will share simple technique tips so you feel confident on the trail.
Join us for a restorative day in the Aosta Valley and return to Milan relaxed and recharged. Spaces are limited for this private transfer format, so book now to secure your spot and step into the winter magic of the Italian Alps!
Meeting point
Make sure to bring a backpack (around 20 liters recommended), sturdy hiking boots, one fleece sweatshirt, a windproof jacket, comfortable warm trousers (polyamide fabric preferred—no jeans), an extra T-shirt suitable for sweating, a rain cover and backpack rain cover, a water bottle (minimum 1 liter), snacks and energy bars, a hat and gloves (mandatory), sunscreen, and sunglasses.
What is the correct clothing?
To participate in a snowshoe hike, you should dress in layers (a light layer against the skin, and a heavier one on top). This allows you to easily adapt to changes in temperature. We strongly advise against pants that absorb water, such as jeans or corduroy pants. It is better to use synthetic, quick-drying clothing
I don't have winter hiking pants. What can I do?
We can rent a pair of waterproof over-trousers (or ‘shell pants’) to prevent you from getting wet from the snow, with a very cheap price
What kind of boots should I wear?
To participate in snowshoeing, you need waterproof, high-cut hiking boots (Gore-Tex or similar) and warm socks.
I don't have suitable boots. What can I do?
If you don’t have hiking boots, you can rent waterproof shoe covers (gaiters) at a very low price during the booking process. However, you must still wear warm socks and high-cut shoes or ankle boots without pointed toe or high-heeled.
How fit do I need to be to do this hike?
The snowshoe hike is not difficult; it only features a few short, moderately steep sections. Participants should be in good physical shape and not coming from months of sedentary activity. Snowshoeing always involves a greater effort (about 20% more) compared to a normal walk on a mountain trail.
What about food and water
We suggest always bringing some food (you need to be on site with food already purchased) such as: a sandwich, a fruit or dried fruit and a litre of water.
What about the car trip?
The proposal includes the car trip with the guide from Milan. Therefore, the travel cost of the guide is included in the price you pay. The cost must be paid even if you do not take advantage of the car ride as the guide has to travel. By leaving Milan with your guide, you have the opportunity to travel at a truly advantageous cost and without time restrictions with means of transport

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
