Description

Switzerland in winter is a prime destination for a ski adventure. In this occasion, I propose to introduce you to freeride ski during one day.

Off-piste deep snow skiing with minimal or no climbing, and maximal downhill fun! That is the idea around which I planned this day.

To join in, you need to be a confident skier on piste. You do not need to have deep snow experience. Although please note that it is not a technical course, rather a day of introduction to freeride.

I always recommend to go with a guide when you are trying a new discipline for the first time. It will allow you to be safe and feel more confident, also for future outings.

Snowboarders are also welcome!

Unless something extreme happens, the trip will take place in any weather condition. We will go out for the whole day. The exact location will be defined shortly before the trip, to catch the best snow conditions. But in principle it will be in Central Switzerland.

I had am amazing time during the 1-day off-piste training course at Hoch-Ybrig. Urs, our main mountain guide, was very helpful in answering my queries before the course, and Lupe from explore-share was helpful in selecting the course. We had 3 groups under Urs, Mario and Patrick, and I was in the group with Patrick. He gave us a lot of nice tips and individualized video analysis. He made a special effort to convey everything in English, since I don't know German. All the participants were very helpful and friendly too! The course is good value for money as skis are included for the weekend in the course price.
