Description

Bariloche is a gorgeous place, a Patagonian jewel, and for anybody who wants to enjoy nature, it is a must visit.

Bariloche is famous for many things. One of those things is the quality of splitboarding it offers. And for 3 days, I would like to take you on a splitboarding adventure near the popular Frey mountain hut.

The slopes around the Frey mountain hut are plentiful, and are filled with fresh snow. Another great highlight of the slopes are the spectacular views you will get to enjoy. Surrounded by natural landscape, you will be in awe of just how beautiful the area actually is. And at the end of each day, you will get to relax and rest in the Frey mountain hut.

In addition to the fantastic slopes, gorgeous scenery, and comfortable accommodation of this trip, you will also be very close to Bariloche. As a result, you can spend some time there either before, or after the trip. It is definitely worth it, as it will give you a genuine Argentinean experience, filled with delicious wine, asado and famous chocolate!

Participants on this trip should have prior splitboarding experience. They should also be in good physical condition as well.

If you are looking for a splitboarding adventure in a place renowned for its beauty, then this trip is for you. So send me a request, come to Bariloche, spend 2 nights in the Frey mountain hut, and let me show you the beauty of Patagonia.

Mountain Guide

I was born in a very remote area of northern Argentina which gave me a special appreciation for the outdoors. When I was 16 my family moved south, closer to the mountains, and I started to climb in the Andes. I've been mountaineering – trekking and climbing – ever since.
I've traveled and climbed throughout Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, the USA, Canada and Europe. I spent two summer seasons working in Aosta, Italy where I completed numerous ascents and climbing on the area.
At some point in my younger years, my career path steered me to the telecommunications industry, scaling towers and fixing cellular systems. But the mountains were never far away and I eventually returned to my roots and become a mountain guide since 2001.
In the winter I focus on being a ski guide around the mountain range and also the volcanoes, this is how I spend part of my time on the winter seasons as well as teaching backcountry ski and avalanche awareness courses.

Excelent trek to Laguna Ilon

My husband and I have been on many incredible hikes all over Argentina with Lucas as our Guide. He has taken us to the most phenomenal places and pushed us (willingly) to our limits whilst at the same time always feeling very safe knowing that he is such an expert and highly qualified mountaineer. We have crossed glaciers wearing crampons as the sun rises, we have climbed volcanoes that we thought would never be physically possible, and Lucas has been fun and entertaining along the way. He jas great judgement - the tripas are planned and amended along the way in order that you can totally disconnect from everyday life. Every trip also contains interaction with local people and so we have learnt a lot about Argentinean culture and Argentinean people. Georgina and Rob Smart - England

Have recently hiked up Mt Tronador with Lucas as a guide. The rest of the team and I were very happy to have him guide us. He is very professional and experienced, yet also very attentive and friendly. Would definitely consider hiring him again for our next adventure!

I have been skiing for 40 years and climbing for 10, I was so happy to have Lucas guide me to help me with my skiing goals. I felt safe and comfortable with his knowledge and experience and truly enjoyed the experience. He provided me options for me to choose on the level difficulty or risk that I was willing to take, and allowed me the option to choose. I met my goals and would highly recommend Lucas for future skiing or climbing for others and will connect with him in the future.” Safety and fun is are my two most important goals in the backcountry and he helped achieve those goals
