Nestled in the Banff National Park of the Canadian Rockies, the Lake Louise area offers an ideal mountaineering environment.
Join me on a full-day single-pitch climbing trip in the stunning Alberta setting.
Established in 1885, the Banff National Park is the oldest in Canada and is home to more than 6,600 square kilometres (2,500 square miles) of majestic mountain terrain.
Standing guard on either side of the glacier-fed Lake Louise are the snow-capped mountains of Mount Temple (3,543m; 11,624ft), Mount Whyte (2,983ft; 9,787ft), and Mount Niblock (2,976m; 9,764ft). This makes Lake Louise home to a number of great climbing routes.
The full-day single-pitch trip can be customised to your own level of ability and experience, and with my knowledge of the area, can create a truly unique itinerary for you.
The hamlet of Lake Louise is named after the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria, Princess Louise Caroline Alberta (1848-1939). Louise was also the wife of John Campbell, Governor General of Canada from 1878 to 1883.
Surrounded by stunning mountain peaks, the hamlet has become a popular place for tourism, especially mountaineers. Yet we will climb above the crowds as we ascend the terrain, soon isolating ourselves in the vase beauty of nature.
Due to the full-day trip being built around your level of ability, there is no set criteria for skill or technique. However, you are expected to have a good level of fitness.
Reserve this Rockies experience and climb the stunning peaks that surround Lake Louise in the Banff National Park.
I am an ACMG Rock Guide, I started guiding because I am very passionate about teaching people the technical side of climbing as well as the emotional achievements that come with challenging yourself and connecting with nature.
I have been climbing since I was a kid with my teddy bear clipped to my harness, and since then I have dedicated years to travelling, rock climbing, mountaineering, and improving my technical skills.
I have climbed El Capitan in Yosemite Valley 4 times, sent 5.12 in 5 different countries, and love combining the techniques from rock types around the world. I am also an Industrial Rope Access Technician and enjoy geeking out on the physics of rope systems.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
