Do you want to discover the beautiful Gran Paradiso massif while enjoying great ski touring from hut to hut? Sébastien, IFMGA guide, can take you there!
Join me in this ski touring traverse around the beautiful Gran Paradiso massif, in the Italian Alps.
During this trip, we will reach some summits as Punta Rossa (3630 m), Grand Serra (3552 m) and the mythical Gran Paradiso (4061 m). To get there, we will cross beautiful glaciers and passes, and then enjoy long off-piste descents. Besides, we will sleep in mythical refuges, as Chabod and Vicot Emmanuel II.
During this trip we will see how to:
– Progress ski touring in a glacial environment;
– Assess and manage the risks associated to this practice;
– Use the AVD, shovel and probe.
Departures 2017: April 17th and April 24th. If you want to go on different dates in March and April, it's also possible.
Did you find this proposed trip interesting? Then please contact me so we can start planning your next adventure! Another place where I love taking my clients ski touring is around the Silvretta Massif, check it out!

We meet either at Cogne (11:15AM) or at Chamonix (8:30AM) and transfer to Cogne. We check the equipment, then ascend ski touring from Cogne to the Vittorio Sella refuge (2584 m).
We ascend the Punta Rossa (3630 m) ski touring by the Noire pass from where we overlook the Trajoz glacier. We descend skiing off-piste to the Vittorio Sella refuge.
We ascend the Grand Serra (3552 m) ski touring by the Lauson glacier and the Grand Val glacier. There is a short technical passage where we have to use a rope. Then we cross to the Grand Neyron pass and descend to the Chabod refuge (2750 m).
We ascend the Gran Paradiso (4061 m) ski touring, technically not difficult, by the Avaciau glacier. We descend skiing off-piste by the Gran Paradiso glacier to the Victor Emmanuel II refuge (2752 m). A superb high mountain day in the heart of the Alps.
We cross ski touring the south face of the massif to the Pontese refuge (2200 m), by the Gran Paradiso pass (3345 m) and the Becchi pass (2990 m). A glacial itinerary.
We ascend ski touring the Di Teleccio pass (3304 m) by rather steep slopes. In some passages we have to carry the skis. It is a south face and the snow is always hard, making us wear crampons. We will go by the the foot of Bec de Valsorey, a superb granite needle. The arrival to the Di Teleccio pass is beautiful, at the foot of the Torre del Grand San Pietro. Then follows a superb descent skiing off-piste by the Di Taleccio glacier, then through the Valeille valley.
In mountain huts.
Group size: 4 to 5 people.
I will loan you a harness and a transceiver.
In Cogne or Chamonix.

Thanks for all your help!
I had a great time climbing with Sebastien. He modified the trip because of the weather and was able to find dry rock on a wet day. Throughout the trip Sebastien not only provided plenty of climbing but also helped me on skills that I wanted to improve on.
Sebastien was a great guide! Thank you :)

Super semaine avec Sébastien et Guillaume. Très partant pour refaire un stage!!!
Unforgettable experience, thanks to our guide Sebastien we reached the summit, he prepared us not only with the required skills also with the psychological strength for such an emblematic summit. Also we want to thank Gauthier (from Explore-Share) for his help preparing this expedition.
It was my first ski touring experience in high montainous areas: it was just unique thanks notably to the way Sébastien managed us in a very professional way. He inspired confidence in our group while this was the very first time for three among us. Congrats.
