Description

Situated in northwest England, the Lake District is as good a place as any for a proper UK rock climbing experience!

Join me and over the course of our day together, we will explore this stunningly beautiful place and try our hand at making a few ascents while enjoying lovely views along the way.

No previous experience necessary!

Depending on what you would like to do as well as your skill level, we can either head out for some single or multi-pitch climbs and easy or more challenging scrambling. It’s up to you.

Most of our trips take place in Langdale, near Ambleside. We find that among the pikes there are excellent spots for all of the types of aforementioned climbing.

However, we’re flexible. If you are staying elsewhere in this lovely area, we can (most likely) head to where you are and recommend plenty of excellent climbing venues around there as well.

Please note the 6:1 person per guide ratio is only applicable to single-pitch climbing. The ratios for other types of climbing are as follows:

Multi-pitch climbing: 2:1 Easy (Grade 1 and 2) scrambling: 4:1 Grade 3 scrambling: 3:1

Mountain Guide

Since discovering rock climbing and hill walking with the Scouts I have never been far away from the mountains. I have been lucky enough to turn what began as a year out into a full time career.

I have worked my way through the mountaineering qualifications from my Mountain Leader award through SPA, Winter Mountain Leader and MIA to getting my MIC (now Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor)in 2009. As an WMCI holder I am qualified to take you rock, snow or ice climbing anywhere in the UK. The WMCI is the highest UK specific qualification so you could not be in safer hands.

I have gained so much from the outdoor environment, particularly the Lake District. I now enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for the hills with others and passing on the knowledge to help them go and explore by themselves. I have been an active member of a Mountain Rescue Team (first Keswick and now Duddon and Furness) since 2005 and I once appeared in Coronation Street.
