Highlights

I invite you to a fantastic spring ski touring day in the Hoher Sonnblick (3105 m), in the Austrian Alps! We will enjoy a great descent on the slopes of this impressive mountain.

The Hoher Sonnblick lies on the border between the states of Carinthia and Salzburg. It’s located at the end of the Rauris Valley, so it’s also named Rauriser Sonnblick.

This majestic mountain will immediatly catch your eye with its distinctive form. Also, in this area, there were historical gold mines. They gave their name to the Goldberg Group, the mountain range around the Hoher Sonnblick.

So, following the steps of the gold miners, we will climb up over the Goldbergkees glacier and up to the summit! Even more, once we get to the summit, we will get the chance to see a weather station on top. Also, there is a mountain hut, the Zittelhaus!

The Hoher Sonnblick summit offers a spectacular view. It will be a 1500 metres ascent of about 4.30-5 hours. You must be able to ski on all types of snow, in order to join this tour. Also, you need to be in very good shape!

Contact me if you want to join me in this great ski touring day! I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.  If you want to try anotyher fantastic ski touring program, check out my Gabler ski touring day!

    About the Guide

I am a IFMGA certified mountain guide and a climbing lover. I grew up in a small farm in Mittersiller Sonnberg. My parents used to show us the beauty of our mountains. When I was 10 years old I went ski touring for the first time and I really loved it. The next years, I started climbing walls which really fascinated me. I also participated in many competitions.

My career took me to Hohe Tauern National Park where I finished the ranger training to bring visitors to the beauties of my country.

In 2013, I got my official certificate as a mountain guide and ski instructor. A dream came true! Since 2014, I have been working a full time guide, guiding in different areas such as Ortler, Valais, Dolomites, Wilder Kaiser, Muztagh Ata (China)... and of course, in some of our famous mountains such as Großvenediger and Großglockner.

Feel free to get in touch with me! I'll be glad to share with you a great moment in the mountains!
