The Sumidero Canyon is a national park close to Tuxla Gutierrez, Chiapas’ capital, and Chiapa de Corzo, in the south of the country. The canyon was formed millions of years ago from a geological fault, where the Grijalva River lies. It is considered one of Mexico’s most astonishing places with walls over 900 meters high, waterfalls and colorful caves. We’ll also be able to watch monkeys, birds and even crocodiles.
On this adventure, we’ll hike along some of the best viewpoints in the park. Then, we’ll take a 2-hour boat ride on the Grijalva River. We’ll finish this outstanding experience on Chiapa de Corzo and explore the small town and archeological sites close by.
