Description

Join me on the exciting 1.5 mile Hell Brook Trail in Smuggler’s Notch! This trip is for adventurous and enthusiastic hikers who want to reach great heights. We will be hiking a straight line up from the Big Spring in the Notch to the summit of Mt. Mansfield. This is one of Stowe’s most famous skiing lines. This trip offers the most technical hiking route to Vermont’s tallest peak.

Hell Brook features some of the most breathtaking views available in all of Smuggler’s Notch. It is a secluded part of Smuggler’s Notch, with little to no foot traffic.  The trail’s difficulty makes the feeling of accomplishment that much stronger at completion. The end of the trail brings us to a beautiful, serene mountain forest. Here, you will find trees so big you can’t fit your arms around them!

The difficulty of this trail is part of it’s appeal. In order to enjoy these majestic views, you need to earn it! This is a very technical hike. Hikers will need to pay attention to their surroundings, sometimes using their hands to climb as we reach steep inclines. Foot placement will also be important in these moments, as we use exposed rock slabs to climb along the trail. We should look at professional climbers for inspiration. The technique you use on this trip will make all the difference.

This trail transports you to a different time and place. You can leave all of your stresses behind and focus on accomplishing your hike. Once you reach the end, you will feel one with nature. Book today and I promise you will leave this trip with a sense of accomplishment and serenity!

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!

Nate was very knowledgeable and got me to the top of mountain. He’s not as engaging as most of the guides I’ve had over the years. I’ve learned a lot about most of my climbs as guides talk about the mountain and the area maybe even plant and animals and I enjoy getting to know them better. We did talk a bit more on the way out of the trailhead. All in all a good experience. But not sure your company told him I had a knee replacement and would be slow.
