Description

Located above the Van hamlet, the Salanfe region is a true paradise. Dominated by the imposing chain of the Dents du Midi, the lake reflects the geological richness of the region.

An easy hike that leads directly the hiker into the mineral world of the mountain.

Variations: access can also be done by the Pas d’Encel and Susanfe hut and by the Emaney pass.

There are many ascent opportunities around Lake Salanfe such as Haute Cime, the Luisin, Golette pass…

I invite you to contact me if you are in the area and want to escape for a day to a magical and marvelous place! I’d be happy to take you there.

Here are other hiking options:

– Réchy valley: a haven of peace (Valais central)

– Rochers-de-Naye: Lake Geneva dizziness (Alpes vaudoises)

– Lake Blanc: progress in front of the Mont Blanc (Haute Savoie)

– Dent d’Oche (Chablais / Haute Savoie)

Vincent

Mountain Leader

I was born in 1978, and I discovered the fascinating world of the high mountain very early, in Valais. I'm a Geographer, specialised in mountain space management in the Alpine Geographical Institute at Grenoble. I then worked for 3 years as a researcher in Geneva University, studying tourism and sustainable development in the mountain.
Always looking for large spaces, I became passionate about traveling by foot, snowshoeing or skiing in the massifs of the world. From Iceland to Patagonia, from Greenland to the Andes Range, from Poland to Ethiopia, I take pleasure in surveying these high territories. In 2007, the nomad call took me to an integral crossing of the alpine arc during 5 months, by foot and in solitary. This adventure led to a documentary film and to writing a book.
Eager to convey my passion for traveling and trekking to a varied public, I became a Hiking Guide. Other than this activity, I teach, give conferences and I am a specialised journalist.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
