Description

Whether you are looking for a new sporting experience, willing to challenge yourself, or interested in having fun with friends or family, this program is for you! It is open to everyone, without any specific fitness requirement, just enthusiasm!

During 5 hours you will climb a vertical wall in the middle of the beautiful Cantabrian Mountains (2,648 m) under my supervision. I will explain participants the basic climbing techniques, the proper use of the climbing equipment, and provide them with key safety guidelines.

The Cantabrian Range stretches over 300 km across northern Spain, parallel to the Cantabrian Sea. Its combination of rugged elevations, green forests, and rivers makes this a perfect climbing area.

I usually suggest meeting at a climbing location in the Besaya region, situated in the center of Cantabria. However, there are several climbing areas around, so we can select the most convenient venue for the whole group.

Challenge yourself to a new exciting experience in the middle of nature. Send me your booking request now!

If you are looking for even more challenging activities in the area, I recommend the 3-day sport climbing trip in the Cantabrian Mountains and the Pico Madejuno (2,513m) guided ascent.

Mountain Leader

Picos a Vista is led by Francisco González, a professional climbing and mountain guide as well as an alpine ski instructor, born and raised in Cantabria. His home mountains, especially the Picos de Europa, were his playground in adolescence and the place where he discovered his passion for the outdoors in all its forms.

With decades of experience, Francisco has explored mountain ranges and climbing areas across Spain, the Alps, and far beyond — from Yosemite and Squamish to Greenland’s remote fjords. His background as a versatile “all-terrain” adventurer allows him to guide safely and confidently in rock, snow, and mixed terrain, always with the aim of sharing the joy of the mountains with others.

Whether leading a technical climb, a scenic trek, or a ski descent, Francisco combines deep local knowledge with a love for exploration, creating unforgettable and authentic mountain experiences.
