Description

There are plenty of beautiful canyons all over the world. However, I believe the region of Jura in Eastern France offers some of the best you will ever see. And within the limestone Jura mountains, you will encounter a canyoning paradise.

Relatively unknown, you won't have to worry about large crowds in Jura like you would in more famous canyoning areas. But after one look at these canyons, you will probably think like I do, that they won't be unknown for long.

These stunning canyons are full of waterfalls, marmites, natural slides, rock arches, and gorgeous pools of crystal water. As a result of the natural wonder of the Jura canyons, there are so many ways to enjoy them. You can slide and jump, abseil with a rope, and swim to your heart's content.

Another great aspect of this trip is the variety I can offer you. There are several different canyons in the Jura area to choose from. They include the Malvaux gorges, Langouette, the Saine gorges, Coiserette and Gros Dard. Also, I offer a half-day option at one canyon, a full-day option at 2 canyons, a personalised program and even a full weekend option. Finally, the level of difficulty of the trip varies as well. Before the trip, we will discuss the level of intensity you want, and we will find the perfect canyon for you.

As long as you are over 12 years old, in good physical condition, and know how to swim, anybody can enjoy this trip!

The canyons in the French Jura mountains are a hidden gem that probably won't stay hidden for long. So if you want to enjoy them now, send me a message and lets make it happen.

If you would like to enjoy another exciting activity in Jura, I also offer a ski touring trip as well.

Mountain Guide

The Jura massif is an ideal place to learn and grow your experience in alpine techniques. I practice mountaineering, ski touring and ice climbing in the winter. I am also located very close to the Swiss and French alpine massifs.

First, I started as a ski rescuer. My passion for skiing and climbing helped me discover the classic routes in the mythical summits of the Alps. The first mountain courses I went on with friends as a guide - which I did with a lot of effort, doubts and perseverance - were much needed to build my experience. Still, they also gave me a lot of joy, and I was able to pursue them while laughing and creating beautiful moments shared.

My experience and terrain knowledge will allow you to move safely and enjoy your time, without a promise of the summit but of sharing a privileged and unique moment in the mountains.

Finally, I'm a fully certified IFMGA mountain guide.

Thanks to the site, we had a rapid proposal for a guide, who quickly tool contact with us. He chose a trip adapted to the competences of the family and remained very diligent during the full trip. Great experience !

An excellent guide, who planned an amazing route and combined technical instruction with local knowledge to provide a very enjoyable day of skiing that improved my off-piste skills and gave me confidence to try lines that I would never consider alone.

I am really, really happy with both Explore-share.com’s service and their recommendation of guide Benjamin Souflot. Benjamin was extremely personable, and more importantly knowledgeable. Benjamin recommended where to rent ski gear and the proper gear for the day. He had crampons for my boots, ropes and other safety gear needed. I showed up at the meeting spot early, and Benjamin was already there waiting. On the gondola ride up to Aiguille du Midi, he talked safety and what to expect. When we got up to the top, it was very windy and intimidating. As Benjamin prepared the gear for our descent, he talked safety, strategy and was reassuring that it would be a fun, safe adventure. As I look down the face of the Ridgeline, I became nervous and anxious. Benjamin was very reassuring that it was going to be OK, that I was safe with him and we would make it down. Sure enough, Benjamin literally “talked me off the ledge” and we proceeded down. Benjamin was focused & guided me the entire time. Once we started skiing, Benjamin gave great instructions as to where to ski, what to expect ahead, etc. He was very knowledgeable about the mountain. When we took breaks, Benjamin shared with me interesting facts about where we were, in the mountains France, Italy, Mount Blanc, the crevasses, various peaks, history of the glacier, etc. I had a great experience! I would definitely do this trip again with Benjamin. I would also recommend this trip to anyone else with Benjamin and your company, Explore-share.com. Thank you again! -John
