Join one of our expert and certified guides on this challenging, yet incredibly satisfying day hike in the Wilder Kaiser!
We’ll begin this amazing adventure in Tannchichl. Then, we’ll follow the Gildensteig trail that will take us to Kleines Törl. After trekking for about 200 meters, you’ll reach a basin. The sources of the Wilder Kaiser feed this basin. Thus the water is pure an delicious!
We’ll keep trekking until we can spot Tannbichlkapelle. It is small chapel built in the 19th century, and an homage to those climbers who’ve perished in accidents.
Thereon, we’ll continue a path along the Gildensteig trail. After some steep passages we’ll reach Bergsteigergrab. Upon arrival, we’ll take some time for contemplation and admiration. This is the place where Much Wieser, an acclaimed mountaineer rests, as he requested to be buried on this beautiful spot.
A narrow path will then take us to a privileged view of the Wilder Kaiser, Wilderer Kanzel. Later, we’ll keep advancing north through a fantastic area of Alpine meadows, that later turns into a rocky terrain. A series of narrow paths await, and above us we’ll find the Törlwand rock face.
Finally, we’ll reach Kleines Törl, where we’ll get unrivalled views of the whole area and the perfect spot to rest. Thereon, we’ll hike back through the same route until the Wilderer Kanzel, where we’ll head to the Gaudeamushütte mountain hut, and then back to Tannbichl.
