Description

Morgins, in the Swiss Alps, offers perfect terrain for freeride and ski touring. And I know this place very well, so I want you to guide you to its best spots!

Located at 1,333m in the Canton of Valais, in southern Switzerland, Morgins is part of the Portes du Soleil ski resort. This is a huge Swiss-French winter sports area covering more than 500 km2, twelve villages and almost 200 lifts.

If you want to focus on freeride skiing, we won’t need to walk too much to reach some amazing virgin snow runs. Morgins has a large natural powder reserve very close to the lifts.

And if you are an adventure enthusiast, you can discover the magic of these mountains with ski touring. We will climb up the snowy slopes with skins to then make our own downhill tracks in top-quality powder snow. It will be a unique skiing experience far away from the busy slopes!

Morgins is situated at the foot of the Dents du Midi, an imposing multi-summit mountain surrounded by beautiful lakes and forests. While skiing, you will be able to appreciate an amazing alpine landscape.

In addition to that, a special lift pass will allow you to ski in other Portes du Soleil resorts in both Switzerland and France: Les Crosets, Avoriaz, Champéry and Châtel, among others. If you want to explore the complete ski domain you should arrange for more days.

So, what are you waiting for? If you want to live a real freeride and ski touring experience, contact me! I’ll be glad to get you to some stunning powder runs of the Alps!

And if you want to ski in Portes du Soleil French side, you should check out my Avoriaz ski touring and freeride day trip.

Mountain Guide

The Jura massif is an ideal place to learn and grow your experience in alpine techniques. I practice mountaineering, ski touring and ice climbing in the winter. I am also located very close to the Swiss and French alpine massifs.

First, I started as a ski rescuer. My passion for skiing and climbing helped me discover the classic routes in the mythical summits of the Alps. The first mountain courses I went on with friends as a guide - which I did with a lot of effort, doubts and perseverance - were much needed to build my experience. Still, they also gave me a lot of joy, and I was able to pursue them while laughing and creating beautiful moments shared.

My experience and terrain knowledge will allow you to move safely and enjoy your time, without a promise of the summit but of sharing a privileged and unique moment in the mountains.

Finally, I'm a fully certified IFMGA mountain guide.

An excellent guide, who planned an amazing route and combined technical instruction with local knowledge to provide a very enjoyable day of skiing that improved my off-piste skills and gave me confidence to try lines that I would never consider alone.

I am really, really happy with both Explore-share.com’s service and their recommendation of guide Benjamin Souflot. Benjamin was extremely personable, and more importantly knowledgeable. Benjamin recommended where to rent ski gear and the proper gear for the day. He had crampons for my boots, ropes and other safety gear needed. I showed up at the meeting spot early, and Benjamin was already there waiting. On the gondola ride up to Aiguille du Midi, he talked safety and what to expect. When we got up to the top, it was very windy and intimidating. As Benjamin prepared the gear for our descent, he talked safety, strategy and was reassuring that it would be a fun, safe adventure. As I look down the face of the Ridgeline, I became nervous and anxious. Benjamin was very reassuring that it was going to be OK, that I was safe with him and we would make it down. Sure enough, Benjamin literally “talked me off the ledge” and we proceeded down. Benjamin was focused & guided me the entire time. Once we started skiing, Benjamin gave great instructions as to where to ski, what to expect ahead, etc. He was very knowledgeable about the mountain. When we took breaks, Benjamin shared with me interesting facts about where we were, in the mountains France, Italy, Mount Blanc, the crevasses, various peaks, history of the glacier, etc. I had a great experience! I would definitely do this trip again with Benjamin. I would also recommend this trip to anyone else with Benjamin and your company, Explore-share.com. Thank you again! -John
