Sierra Nevada (California)
We will begin the trip by going over what this week will have in store for us! We will get onto our bikes and ride the Tahoe Tim Trail, which circles Lake Tahoe. We will ride at a conservative pace as we adjust to the high altitude. We will reach 8,400 meters above sea level on this day. We will ride to Watson Peak where we can look over the Tahoe Basin and surrounding peaks.
Today we will get back on the singletrack and cross state lines as we ride from Tahoe Meadows to Marlette Lake in Nevada. We will see some amazing panoramic views of the Lake. We will descend to Chimney Beach, where we can relax and take a dip in the lake.
Today we head to South Lake Tahoe to explore. This trail features a heavy descent followed by quick, wavy singletrack that will feel like a rollercoaster! We can finish the day by exploring the strip of South Lake or choose to lay out on the beach side.
It is important to relax on this day as we will start feeling all the exercise we’ve been doing the last 3 days in our muscles. We can spend the morning stretching and doing yoga before we head back out to Rim Trail. We will ride from Kingsbury Grade to Spooner Summit.
Today we will have our final ride. We will receive a transfer to the trailhead in the backcountry of Truckee near Donner Summit. We will ride all the way to Reno where we will all say goodbye.
