Description

Discover the mountain biking paradise of Alvdal, filled with miles of gravel roads and singletrack trails to explore. On this tour, we'll guide you on the best routes in the area, taking you through stunning scenery, meandering rivers and traditional Norwegian farms.

Start your journey in the charming farm-lodging of Urørt Lodge, easily accessible by both train and car, just 3 hours away from Oslo's airport. Your first evening will be marked by a warm welcome dinner and a brief overview of the upcoming itinerary for the upcoming days.

Biking along the Glomma River, the longest river in Norway and take in the amazing views of the river valley and the surrounding mountains. We will then eventually reach Jutulhoggetone of the largest canyons in Europe and the second longest in Northern Europe. Hike down to the canyon floor and take a closer look at its rugged cliffs and breathtaking depths, testament to the forces of nature that have shaped the land over millennia.

Test yourself on a challenging climb to the summit of Mt. Tron, the highest mountain in the Dovre mountains with an astounding height of 2,469 meters (8,099 feet). The road to the top is 1,100 meters of continuous gravel ascent. Enjoy the gorgeous panoramic views from the top and behold the surrounding mountains and valleys, including the Rondane National Park. You can also see all the way to the coast of Norway on a clear day.

Spend an afternoon in Savalen spa hotel, a relaxing getaway in the Norwegian countryside. Enjoy a rejuvenating experience with a spa treatment or a swim in the pool.

Drive along the mountain roads that wind through some of the most scenic valleys in the area. From the mountains, you will descend to the river valley of Folla which flows through the valley from north to south.

Enter the realm of the reindeer. The mountains in this area are covered in lichen, which is a main source of food for the reindeer. You will also ride through the longest valley with summer farms in Norway, before descending to the river Folla again.

On the final day of your bike ride, we will explore the realm of the reindeer, where the mountains are covered in lichen, a primary food source for these animals. Ride through the longest valley with summer farms in Norway, before descending to the river Folla once more.

The final leg of our tour will take us through the White Valley, named after the white lichen that covers the ground. We will stay at the beautiful historic Hjerkinn mountain lodge for our last two nights.

Embark on a guided tour in Hjerkinn to see muskoxen, rare, furry animals with thick coats of fur that can only be found in a few places in the world. As we hike through the mountains we'll look for these amazing creatures and, if we are lucky, we will have the incredible privilege to see them up close.

After the tour, we will return to the Hjerkinn mountain lodge for our farewell dinner. We will enjoy a delicious meal and reflect on our experiences on this unparalleled experience in the vast Norwegian mountains.
