Join this Bike and Sail adventure in Northern Norway and ride some of the most spectacular, remote, and scenic trails above the Arctic fjords.
Ride some of Arctic Norway’s most spectacular and still-undiscovered trails, from rocky singletrack and grassy slopes to smooth slab sections above the fjords. Highlights include iconic lines such as Fugltind in the Lyngen Alps and Husfjellet on Senja, with unforgettable descents surrounded by peaks, ocean, and wild northern scenery.
Each evening, the catamaran sails toward the next adventure. Wake up beside a new trailhead, bike or push toward a summit, and descend back toward the sea before enjoying a local meal on board. Between rides, make the most of fishing, sauna sessions, cold-water dips, and, when the season allows, northern lights.
Throughout the trip, you’ll be in the hands of guides and skippers who know Arctic Norway deeply and work together to create the best possible experience, both on the trails and at sea. You’ll sail aboard a locally operated Norwegian charter boat, run by a trusted company with more than 20 years of experience and high safety standards. The goal is simple: to give you a smooth, memorable adventure that guests are excited to recommend afterwards.
Join this Bike and Sail adventure in Norway and experience remote Arctic trails, wild fjord landscapes, and life at sea in one spectacular trip.
Meeting point
Arrive in Tromsø and board the catamaran in the afternoon. After settling in, we sail through the fjord toward our first biking destination.
Boarding takes place in Tromsø on Saturday afternoon. Please plan to arrive no later than 2 p.m., as the boat will set sail toward the first biking area later that day.
The trip ends the following Saturday morning after breakfast and check-out. Most guests fly home on Saturday, although it may be possible to depart as early as Friday evening from around 9 p.m. For a more relaxed schedule, we recommend booking your return flight for Saturday.
If your flight connections require an extra night in Tromsø, or if you would like to extend your stay, we can help arrange one or two additional guided biking days. For extra accommodation in Tromsø, the Comfort Hotel Xpress Tromsø is a convenient option.
Start the adventure with one of the finest trail bike rides in the Lyngen Alps. After a dinghy drop-off, you’ll bike and push your way toward Fugltind before descending nearly 1,000 vertical meters from the summit cairn down to the sea.
With open views across the mountains of Troms and the Lyngen Alps, this long, flowing descent is a spectacular introduction to Arctic Norway riding.
Today’s ride offers a varied enduro-style trail with great views of Tromsø and the surrounding mountains.
Expect a mix of rocky ridge riding, flowing sections near the river, technical terrain with roots and rocks beside a waterfall, and a final smooth descent toward the sea.
Ride one of Senja’s classic ridge trails, with views over the Arctic Ocean, Sommarøy, Kvaløya, and the northern Norwegian islands. The final section to the summit involves a short scramble, but the panorama is well worth the effort.
The descent begins on rocky terrain before opening into around 6 km of ridge riding through a wild and pristine landscape.
Enjoy first-class riding from the top of Husfjellet, one of Senja’s standout viewpoints. From the summit, take in sweeping views of the open sea and surrounding fjords before riding a long descent that combines rocky upper sections, wooden planks over marshland, and playful birch forest trails near the bottom.
This shorter ride starts above the fjord-side island village of Husøy. The route offers excellent slab riding, narrow ridge sections, and stunning coastal views. Although the trail is not long, it is worth riding more than once. Nearby Segla, one of Senja’s most famous peaks, may also be an option for an afternoon hike after biking.
Finish the trip with one of our favorite summit trails in the southern Lyngen Alps.
The descent starts with rocky terrain, becomes fast and flowy through the middle section, and includes playful rock and slab features before ending with wooden planks across the marshes.
After breakfast and check-out, head to the airport or spend some time exploring Tromsø before your flight. Most guests fly out on Saturday, but Friday evening departures may also be possible.
Extra guided biking days before or after the trip can be arranged on request.
Accommodation
During the trip, you’ll stay aboard a spacious 15-meter catamaran operated by a local Norwegian charter company. The boat has 5 cabins, 4 bathrooms with showers, a shared kitchen, and a common living area. Four double cabins are available for guests.
More info
This trip is designed for riders with previous trail biking experience and a solid fitness level. You should be comfortable riding natural trails with loose surfaces, larger roots, rocks, steps, and technical sections. Good bike control, balance, braking skills, and the ability to shift your body position are important.
You should be able to climb around 1,000 vertical meters per day for several consecutive days. Taking one rest day is possible, but skipping several riding days may limit your overall experience. E-bike rental in Tromsø may be available for riders who prefer extra support.
No sailing experience is required. The crew handles the boat operations and logistics, though guests are welcome to help onboard if they wish.

Mountain Guide
Hi, I’m Vojta, welcome to our profile! We are a small and specialized guiding company based out of the Czech Republic, dedicated to offering freeriding and ski-touring trips mainly to Japan and Norway. We run powder camps and tours across the islands of Hokkaido and Honshu in Japan. In March every year, we move to arctic Norway and run Ski and Sail expeditions around Lyngen Alps. We started as a group of friends guiding in Japan in 2013 and we still beleive you should feel like you are riding with friends on our trips. The tours are flexible with the single purpose of skiing in the best snow and finding the best lines possible. We have strong area knowledge of the terrain and go the extra mile to provide you with an unforgettable experience. Our trips not only include skiing, but also delicious food and local culture as you improve your skills as a backcountry skier or snowboarder.
On our trips, you will be guided by Czech and Slovak UIAGM Mountain guides & Ski Guides (Robert Vrlák, Peter Koteles, Daniel Menšík, Vojta Lím, or Tomáš Prajzler)

The trip was run extremely well. Despite less than ideal snow conditions at the beginning of the trip, the guide (Tomas) did his best to find good snow and as the snow conditions improved through the week, we got a better taste of Japow that Hokkaido is famous for.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
