Join IFMGA Certified Guide, Tim, on a 3-day Ski Safari Tour where you can enjoy Off Piste Skiing and 2 days of Ski Touring in the beautiful Oberland Alps.
Join me for a 3-day Skiing Safari within the Bernese Oberland Region of the Swiss Alps.
There is so much area to see and explore in the Bernese Oberland Region. It is incredible when one arrives and looks around and sees how vast and expansive it really is. And because of that vastness, people come from far and wide trying to see as much of it as they can. Thus making this Ski Safari Trip perfect for those wishing to explore this amazing place.
The Alps are famous for climbing. And when you behold the majestic peaks from every direction, it’s easy to see why. However, for the 3-Day duration of this trip, it’s more about gliding on the snow covered ground below than scaling the rocky peaks above. This trip is about intimacy. It’s about soaking in and absorbing the Oberland Region and its natural wilderness, from its roots. Which in this case, are covered in snow.
This trip is separated into different parts. For 2 of the 3 Days, you will enjoy a Skiing Tour of some of the region’s Most Beautiful Routes. Where the scenery will leave you in a state of wonder. While, for 1 Day you will enjoy Off-Piste Skiing. There is something exciting about Skiing off the typical path. There is a different feeling one has while Skiing on a path of their own making, and there is a unique quiet one hears on that path. It is that Quiet, that Peace, that Adventure of not knowing what’s ahead that makes this a trip I promise you will never forget.
So let me guide you on this intimate and peaceful, yet also adventurous and exciting Skiing Safari Tour in the wondrous Bernese Oberland Region of the Swiss Alps.
I’ll be awaiting your message.
And if you want to continue exploring the Oberland Region. But want to do so by climbing its Rocky Ridges and Peaks. You can do it by joining me on This Trip.
A transceiver, probe and shovel are provided during this trip. Groups need to be of similar ski ability and fitness in order to provide a an enjoyable ski tour for all participants.
Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Wilderswil or Interlaken
I am originally from Tokoroa, New Zealand, but I'm now based in Interlaken, Switzerland. I started rock climbing at 19 years and moved on to alpine climbing two years later.
I began guiding in 2003 and am now a fully qualified IFMGA Climbing and Ski Guide. Apart from having extensive experience in New Zealand's Southern Alps, I also know the European Alps very well.
When guiding, I enjoy helping people achieve their dreams: whether it is climbing a summit or acquiring the skills to travel in the mountains. I like watching the dawn turn into a sunrise high on a summit when most people are still asleep and, when rock climbing, I enjoy unlocking a sequence that seemed impossible at first.
When not climbing, I like to ski long, steep, deep powder runs.
Tim was a great guide. I had an amazing time and experienced some great routes. We packed in a lot of different styles of climbing for a single day trip, and Tim did a wonderful job of selecting routes that would challenge me while keeping them obtainable and exciting. He also took time to provide training in areas I have been working on. He covered lead climbing techniques as well as proper safety measures. I highly recommend Tim as a guide, and hope there’s a chance to climb with him in the future. I expect I’ll be returning to Interlaken and will plan for more days of climbing when I do.
