Let me guide you for a 3-Day Rock Climbing Tour in the Bernese Oberland region of the Alps.

There is nothing like the Swiss Alps. And there is really nothing like climbing them either. There are just too many amazing peaks to name in the entire range and the Bernese Oberland area is no different. This region of the Alps offers some of the most spectacular views you will ever see. It will be as if you are staring at paintings, but they are real. However, this tour is not just about staring and admiring. It is also about practising and honing your climbing skills. And as a result, you will be better prepared to safely climb the Alps' elite peaks that will provide you with even better views.

The first day of this tour will involve practising your climbing skills at one of the great local climbing areas, Wilderswil or Neuhaus. On the second and third days, we will climb some amazing Multi-Pitch Routes at Hintisberg, Mittagfluh, Ueschenen, and several others. Hence making this trip an all-encompassing adventure because you will learn by doing. And you will also get the chance to admire the gorgeous scenery of the Swiss Alps.

Unlike the more popular areas of the Alps that attract lots of climbers, the Bernese Oberland area is much quieter. Thus making this trip a more peaceful, intimate, and perhaps even reflective experience.

So come, let me guide you for 3 days on the stony walls, ridges and peaks of the Bernese Oberland section of the Swiss Alps. Where you can practice, learn, and experience the joy of climbing in a Mountain Range perfectly designed for it.

Mountain Guide

I am originally from Tokoroa, New Zealand, but I'm now based in Interlaken, Switzerland. I started rock climbing at 19 years and moved on to alpine climbing two years later.

I began guiding in 2003 and am now a fully qualified IFMGA Climbing and Ski Guide. Apart from having extensive experience in New Zealand's Southern Alps, I also know the European Alps very well.

When guiding, I enjoy helping people achieve their dreams: whether it is climbing a summit or acquiring the skills to travel in the mountains. I like watching the dawn turn into a sunrise high on a summit when most people are still asleep and, when rock climbing, I enjoy unlocking a sequence that seemed impossible at first.

When not climbing, I like to ski long, steep, deep powder runs.

Tim was a great guide. I had an amazing time and experienced some great routes. We packed in a lot of different styles of climbing for a single day trip, and Tim did a wonderful job of selecting routes that would challenge me while keeping them obtainable and exciting. He also took time to provide training in areas I have been working on. He covered lead climbing techniques as well as proper safety measures. I highly recommend Tim as a guide, and hope there’s a chance to climb with him in the future. I expect I’ll be returning to Interlaken and will plan for more days of climbing when I do.
