Join me for a 1-day climbing trip to Zinalrothorn, a beautiful 4221 m peak in the Penine Alps.

Sometimes the most beautiful climbs are on less prestigious summits. They provide an excellent training ground for longer or more arduous routes. Besides, they allow the climber to spend a wonderful day in the mountains.

The edges have always shown the way to alpinists. It is the place where the rock is generally good and offers the best opportunities for belaying. Since edges are the classic field for alpinists, here’s a great route you’ll certainly enjoy!

Climbing Zinalrothorn is one of my favorite trips. It’s a fairly hard traverse on perfect rock, with a mixed approach and descent.

I can also take you to other mountains if you want you: I am particularly fond of the Couronnes de Bréona, the Douves Blanches, the Dent Blanche and the Grépon-Charmoz.

I had am amazing time during the 1-day off-piste training course at Hoch-Ybrig. Urs, our main mountain guide, was very helpful in answering my queries before the course, and Lupe from explore-share was helpful in selecting the course. We had 3 groups under Urs, Mario and Patrick, and I was in the group with Patrick. He gave us a lot of nice tips and individualized video analysis. He made a special effort to convey everything in English, since I don't know German. All the participants were very helpful and friendly too! The course is good value for money as skis are included for the weekend in the course price.
