Description
Only 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta lies Boat Rock, a boulder field that features rounded granite boulders.
In the 80's Boat Rock was host to Atlanta's first climbing competitions, but 70% was subsequently demolished by residential developers. Thankfully, Southeastern Climbers Coalition purchased the land to prevent further development and now the field is 7.8 acres in size.
Boat Rock boasts climbs that vary greatly in difficulty so whether you're looking for a V1 or V9 level climb, you're covered. It's an ideal site for technical climbers and many of the routes include smearing.
