Type of Trip
The Pierra Menta race in the Alps of France is one of the most famous ski mountaineering races in the world. And during this 2 day trip, I would like to introduce you to this incredible event. Thus allowing you to see how amazing it is, while enjoying the skiing area as well!
The area where the Pierra Menta race takes place is gorgeous. Surrounded by the majestic French Alps, and situated at Areches – Beaufort in the Beaufort area of Savoie, don’t be surprised if you catch yourself just standing around, admiring not only the race itself, but the scenery as well.
The trip will begin at 8:00 am. After we meet at Areches – Beaufort, we will then make our way to one of the Pierra Menta race’s stages. We will be at an altitude of approximately 1500 to 2000 metres. We will then enjoy a delicious picnic, where you can still admire the surroundings. In the evening, we will enjoy a wonderful dinner, before settling in for the night in a B & B in Villars sur Doron.
On the second day of the trip, we will start early and make our way from the hamlet of Planay to the Forclaz Pass and Grand Mont during the final leg of the race. We will then enjoy another picnic before the conclusion of the trip.
For anybody that wants to witness a spectacular sporting event in a truly beautiful place, this 2 day trip at the Pierra Menta race is for you. So send me a request, and join me on this ski touring expedition that will allow you to see something you yourself might participate in one day!
I also offer this 4 day cross country skiing trip in Les Saises.
