Join me in Les Saisies for 4 days of winter trail running and cross country skiing!

A 4-day course of winter trail in the heart of Les Saisies in Savoie (30km from Albertville). Join us and improve your endurance in a different and uncommon way!

I have planned a varied and entertaining program for you. It consists of white trail outings, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. The 4 days will be supervised by professionals.

The focus will be set on :

  • Cardiovascular and muscular quality improvement;
  • Training diversification;
  • Injury prevention;
  • Technical advices and intervention on physical preparation.

The objective is for you to learn a lot. We will be in the magical environment of the Saisies resort, in front of Mont-Blanc.

This 4-day course is supervised by myself and Cedric Bernard. He is a former cross country skiing top athlete. He is also a physical trainer and coach. He holds a Masters degree in athletic training and he is specialized in helping people returning to sport after an injury. In addition, he collaborates with high level sports teams (France cross country skiing team, soccer club Olympique Lyonnais, Korean national ski team).

The highlights of this 4-day trip are the following:

  • A tailor made coaching by cross country skiing and trail running professionals,
  • A comfortable accommodation in the heart of the resort with a spa and a swimming pool,
  • A program accessible for runners with no experience in skiing;
  • The possibility to bring you family and enjoy the ski area.
Improve your trail running skills and be supervised by experts in the beautiful environment of La Savoie.

In the ‘extra’ section below, you’ll find information about the required trail running level you need to have. You will also see the equipment that you need to bring with you.

During these 4 days we will run on average 15-20km a day and go up from 1000 to 1500 meters. We will alternate between single tracks and large paths.

Day 1

Ski skating

Meeting in the late morning and check of the equipment. Then SKI SKATING session in the afternoon. We’ll get to know each other. We will do technical analysis and video session to better understand where to improve our skills. Thematic Evening: recovery after trail.

Day 2

Ski skating

During the morning, SKI SKATING: technique, highlighting the upper body work, interest in the trail. Introduction to waxing skis for an optimum slide. Then, afternoon running on snow: cardiovascular improvement. Thematic Evening: physical preparation and interest of cross training in winter.

Day 3

Ski skating and snowshoeing

In the morning, SKI SKATING: technique, speed work, video analysis. Then, SNOWSHOEING in the afternoon. Evening: Stretching

Day 4

Race on snow or snowshoeing

In the morning RACE ON SNOW OR SNOWSHOEING ACCORDING TO CONDITIONS. Afternoon SKATING: active recovery, end of course assessment.

You will stay in a 3* hotel (double rooms) in the heart of the Saisies resort, at 200 m of the alpine and nordic ski slopes but also near from shops, in a mountain environment, with the possibility to go to the spa and the swimming pool. Free entrance to the jacuzzi is offered during the stay.

Group size: from 8 to 12 people.

Price for companions: 347€

Not included: dietary supplements (energy drinks and bars) and drinks during meals.

Initiation level:
- Regular practice of running 3 times per week for 1-1:30hs
- Occasional running practice in varied terrain or regular practice of mountain hiking

- During the day: a light backpack with a waterproof jacket, a long sleeve warm fleece type, a survival blanket, a whistle, an individual pharmacy kit*, a cap or headband, a hat and thin gloves, sunglasses suitable for running, long tights if you are wearing shorts to run, cereal bars and energy drinks, a plastic bag for waste, biodegradable toilet paper, a headlamp, a minimum reserve water of 1.5L, an elastic strapping strip and some cash
- To wear: running short, a short-sleeved t-shirt, running socks, already worn trail shoes, waterproof pants
- For the whole stay: a floor mat, a canister belt for cross country skiing, snowshoes (can be rented), spare clothes for 4 days, a personal hygiene kit, spare shoes, a spare water socket, spare batteries for the headlamp, a pair of spare laces, a pocketknife and earplugs
- Recommended additional equipment: poles and heart rate monitor
