Description

This full-day program combines lift-accessed powder skiing with a professional ski photography experience, offering a unique way to enjoy Hokkaido’s legendary snow. Based in the Sapporo area, Niseko, and Rusutsu, this experience is designed for beginners through advanced skiers and snowboarders who want not only great turns, but lasting visual memories of their time in the mountains.

While this is a guided ski program, photography is at the heart of the experience. Your guide is also a professional photographer, capturing your powder riding throughout the day—natural action shots, terrain scale, and the quiet atmosphere unique to Hokkaido’s winter. You can focus entirely on skiing, knowing your best moments are being documented.

All skiing takes place in lift-accessed off-piste areas, reached directly from the resort into unpatrolled terrain. These zones provide a wide range of slopes, from mellow powder runs ideal for first-time off-piste skiers to more challenging lines for experienced riders. Locations and routes are carefully selected throughout the day based on snow conditions, weather, light, and the group’s ability—always prioritizing both skiing quality and photographic opportunity.

No ski touring experience is required. Some routes may include short hikes of approximately 10–15 minutes, allowing access to better snow and cleaner exits while remaining manageable for most participants.

Group size, pace, and terrain are adapted so everyone can ski comfortably and safely. The program remains flexible throughout the day to ensure that both newer and more advanced participants enjoy high-quality skiing and strong photo results.

Please note that all off-piste areas accessed during this experience are outside controlled resort boundaries. For safety, all participants must carry avalanche safety equipment (beacon, shovel, and probe). If you do not have your own equipment, rental can be arranged directly by the guide for an additional fee, ensuring proper setup and compatibility.

At the end of the day, transportation back to your accommodation is provided, allowing you to relax after a full day of powder skiing and photography.

This is more than a standard off-piste ski tour. It is a premium powder skiing and photo experience, guided with intention—where you are led to the best spots of the day, and your Hokkaido powder lines are captured professionally and naturally.

Itinerary

Day 1: Hokkaido Powder Skiing

The day begins with a morning meeting at the designated location, followed by a briefing on the plan, conditions, and safety procedures. Based on snow and weather conditions, we travel to the selected ski area in the Sapporo region, Niseko, or Rusutsu.

Skiing takes place in lift-accessed off-piste terrain, with route and pace adjusted throughout the day to match the group’s experience level. Short hikes of around 10–15 minutes may be included to access the best snow and photo-friendly lines. A lunch break is taken during the day at a suitable location.

Throughout the day, the guide captures your powder skiing with professional photography while leading you to optimal terrain.

The program concludes in the afternoon, followed by transportation back to your accommodation or the agreed meeting point.

What people are saying about Explore-Share

Man

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Maxine

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
