Description

The beautiful Retezat mountain range is home to Romania's oldest national park (1935). Boasting 100 mountain lakes (out of which 60 are permanent), more than 20 peaks with altitudes over 2000m, and an impressive variety of flora and fauna, this mountain range is the best trekking destination in Romania. On the exciting day tours that I offer, I will guide you to some of Retezat National Park's most magical spots.

We will meet in Hateg city, or we will start together from Timisoara. From there, we will drive 1 hour to Rausor Ski Resort or Cârnic. Once we arrive our trek will begin. Options include trekking to Pietrele and Stanisoara lakes, Peleaga Peak, or Stevia Lake and Retezat peak, depending on your preferences and needs. On the way, we will enjoy the impeccable nature of the park which is wild and pristine as a result of the fact that there are no high mountain huts in the region due to national park regulations. The views are amazing and the wilderness is pure and clean!

Because we will be hiking for long hours in uneven terrain, you will need to have the capacity to hike up to 15km in one day, with an altitude gain of 1500m. Of course, I will be there to help and guide you every step of the way.

Join me on this amazing hiking adventure in the Retezat National Park. Send your request and we can begin to plan your trek. I look forward to guiding you!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
