Rising to 1,836 meters in elevation, Vladeasa Peak is an ideal destination for an incredible day-hike from Cluj-Napoca!
Situated on a volcanic massif extending north from Apuseni Natural Park, the hike to the top of Vladeasa is long but not very challenging.
After meeting up first thing in the morning on the outskirts of Cluj-Napoca, we will drive to the trailhead and begin our hike, which is about a 15 kilometer round trip and includes an elevation gain of 500 meters.
As we head up the mountain, we will get the chance to hike through local forest and plains. As we gain in elevation our first unimpeded glimpses of the mighty Carpathian Mountains will be plenty of reward for our efforts and spur us on toward the summit.
From the top, expect even better views out over our surroundings and into the scenic Apuseni Natural Park.

Thanks Lucian for an amazing trip in the Făgăraș mountains, he was very skilled and flexible with regards to shifting conditions. Although we did not reach the peak due to bad weather, he made up a new route and I got the full 2 days regardless. Would strongly recommend to people with a little bit of hiking/climbing experience at least. Bring warm clothes, gloves and headwear!
