La Mojarra is a climbing park that extends for over a kilometer and a half. It lies in the heart of the Chicamocha Canyon, one of the biggest in the world. This mesmerizing canyon spreads across 108.000 hectares. And its formation was due to millions of years transforming what was an ancient lake into stunning caves and dazzling cliffs. So, there is no better place for a rock climbing adventure!

Exploring La Mojarra, we’ll encounter the finest compact orange sandstone. Furthermore, we’ll get to choose among more than 200 climbing routes, that range from 5.7 to 5.14, and all highly protected.

What’s more, the conditions here are amazing. Even though mornings tend to be sunny, making the ascents more challenging, after 12:00 the conditions are more agreeable. So you’ll find more shades and shadows and the temperature decreasing. Thus it turns La Mojarra into a true rock climbing paradise.

The accessibility to this amazing place is quite comfortable. It’s only 40 miles from Bucaramanga, an enchanting city at Mesa de Los Santos, in the department of Santander. Plus, right at the entrance of the park, we’ll encounter Refugio la Roca. This charming refuge is the perfect spot for recovering your energies, or staying, if you wish to explore La Mojarra for more than a day.
