Saint Dalmas, France, Short Guided Snowshoe Hike

The Mercantour national park in the Alps of France is a beautiful place to visit. And on this short trip, I would like to guide you through the heart of the park to the village of Saint Dalmas.

The highest village in the Alpes-Maritimes, Saint Dalmas is a gorgeous place. Very easy, and less than three hours long, this snowshoeing hike to the village is perfect for anybody who wants to explore a gorgeous natural area. And because of the easy nature of the trip, you don’t have to worry about having any prior technical experience to participate. The pace is also wonderfully casual. Thus giving you all the time you want to enjoy the stunning surroundings of the Mercantour national park as well as the village of Saint Dalmas once we reach it.

During the hike, you will get to see an abundance of traces of wildlife. From hares, foxes and wolves to ibex and chamois, there is a great chance you will get to see their prints in the snow. And particularly in the case of chamois, you will probably have a good chance of seeing the animals themselves with the help of a telescope.

Getting to the beginning part of the hike is also very easy, as you can carpool from either Auron or Saint Etienne.
