I invite you to a great snowshoeing weekeend in the heart of the beautiful **Vosges mountains**, around the **Lac Blanc ski resort**, in the historic region of **Alsace in northeastern France**.

The name of the resort derives from the Lac Blanc, a beautiful lake nearby, situated at 1055 meters. The area surrounding the lake becomes a perfect destination for unique snowshoeing tours during the winter. You will discover stunning views over the valley and the Vosges peaks.

Our base during these days will be **a comfortable and well equipped hostel**, with an on-demand kitchen, nestled in Orbey, in the the upper part of the Kaysersberg Valley. It is very close to the Gazon du Faing peak, the Calvary Cal and the slopes of the intimate family resort of Lac Blanc.

We will meet at the lodge around 5 pm and after settling in we will enjoy an aperitif at the hostel bar. In the evening we will have dinner together. Next morning, **our snowhoeing adventure begins!** We will have breakfast, prepare a **packed lunch** and get ready for our first tour.

On our first day, we will enjoy **a great snowshoeing tour,** exploring the **magical winter landscapes** on beautiful trails, passing by the Tête des Faux, the Devin pond, the Bonhomme forest and the Tête des Immerlins. Our snowshoe hike today will cover a total distance of easy **18 kilometers.**

Next day, on Sunday, after having breakfast we will put our snowshoes on and enjoy a **12 kilometer hike on the snow.** We will walk towards the Lac Blanc, the Lac Noir, the Gazon du Faing ride and then return to the cottage.

**Friday 22 Feb**. We will meet at the hostel at around 5 pm. After settling in we will enjoy an aperitif at the hostel bar and in the evening we will have dinner together. Next morning, our snowhoeing adventure begins!

**Saturday 23 Feb.** We will have breakfast, prepare a packed lunch and get ready for our first snowshoeing tour, on beautiful trails, passing by the Tête des Faux, the Devin pond, the Bonhomme forest and the Tête des Immerlins. Our snowshoe hike today will cover a total distance of easy 18 kilometers. Once back at the hostel, we have a shower, enjoy an aperitif and share a meal together.

**Sunday 24 Feb**. Next day, on Sunday, after having breakfast we will put our snowshoes on and enjoy a 12 kilometer tour. We will walk towards the Lac Blanc, the Lac Noir, the Gazon du Faing ride and then return to the cottage. We return the rented equipment, share a farewell drink and say goodbye.

Join me on this **3-day snowshoeing trip** and discover the natural beauty of the **Vosges Mountains forest** and its snowy stubble, while enjoying the pleasures of naturally **warm thermal waters in ancient Roman baths**. 

The **Vosges Mountains** \-or Massif des Vosges- are a range of low mountains in eastern France, close to the border with Germany. The unique winter landscape of the beautiful Vosges forest is the perfect setting for magical hikes on the snow. You will also have the opportunity to relax on a great spa center, in a warm thermal bath, contemplating beautiful Roman remains more than 2000 years old.

On the first day, we will enjoy **a great snowshoe hike of about 4 hours.** On the second day, we will hike and recharge our energy through **sylvotherapy**. It will take us about 6 hours. This great method looks to **improve our wellness through a direct contact with nature, forest, trees** and their special energy. Finally, we will spend the third day enjoy a relaxing day at the Roman thermal baths.

You will enjoy an unforgettable stay! It will be a **breath of fresh air and relaxation in your life!** We will be staying at a friendly farmhouse-inn with a cozy and friendly atmosphere. We will have delicious traditional meals at lunch and every night, consisting of fresh local products, in a wooden cottage in the heart of the Vosges forest.

The natural environment is very well preserved. During the winter we will not see as many animals as in warmer months. This gives the region a particular feel of isolation. But we are not alone! There is still plenty of wildlife around. And the slower rhythm of snowshoeing, compared to other more active disciplines, is ideal to take in all the beauty.

If you love taking the time to appreciate a particular landscape, or if you are a photography enthusiast, you cannot miss these 2 days exploring the Vosges massif.

We will spend the night in an authentic mountain inn, where we will share the evening in a cozy environment. And nature will be all around us!

**Snowshoeing is a beautiful way to discover a snowy environment. The rhythm is slow but the days remain active, and we experience the unique calmness of the all-white surroundings. Join me for one or more days to explore the Vosges massif and the Alsace with our snowshoes on!**

The options in the massif are vast. The final destination will depend on your wishes as well as the snow conditions. We can go to the Donon massif, the high pastures of Praye, the Champs du Feu, the Bonhomme pass, the Hohneck, the Lac Blanc, La Bresse, Gerardmer… Mont Sainte Odile in Alsace… And these are only some of my favourite options!

We just put our snowshoes and gloves on, and the adventure for the day begins. We will get the chance to observe the traces of the inhabitants of the mountains and the forests. We will be immersed in a special winter environment which contains many mysteries.

**The Vosges massif is a fantastic playground for snowshoeing. In this occasion I invite you to the Lac Blanc region, and in particular to the Gazon du Faing. Join me for a splendid snowshoeing day!**

Located on the Lorraine side of the great ridge of the Vosges, near the Calvaire pass, we find the Tanet – Gazon du Faing Natural Reserve. There are 505 hectares of protected terrain, where nature is very well preserved. The mountain forests are splendid, and what can be best than to explore them with our snowshoes on?

The Gazon du Faing is one of the 10 highest summits in the Vosges massif. From the top of it, the views over the Lac Blanc and the surrounding peaks is amazing.

We will have lunch in a lodge and rest for a while to enjoy the rest of the day. In total, during the day we will walk for 10 kilometers. The positive altitude change is 250 meters.

**During the winter, the Hautes Vosges are a prime destination for snowshoeing. Spending a day traversing the open land and the forests with our snowshoes on is a great chance of pace to get in touch with nature. Join me for a day in the Hohneck!**

The Hohneck is the third highest summit of the Vosges massif. It reaches 1363 meters and dominates the line of ridges that separates Alsace from Lorraine. It is the culminant point of the Vosges department.

From the Hohneck, we will overlook the plain of Alsace and the Lorraine plateau. We will also get to see the Black Forest and, if the weather is clear, we will even distinguish the Alps.

During the day we will walk 9 kilometers and ascend a total of 400 meters. We will enjoy lunch at a lodge, where we will also take some time to rest.

We will be in the area of La Bresse Hohneck ski resort, so you can think of combining your snowshoeing day with some skiing.

**Mont Donon is the highest peak in the northern Vosges. It is 1009 meters high, and can be found at the border between the provinces of Alsace and Lorraine. Join me for a snowshoeing day in this unique destination!**

Since prehistoric times, a sacred character has been attributed to Donon. And this distinctiveness will stay forever. It is away from everything, this promoting the development of legends, mixing myth and reality. The Romans, mysteriously seduced, devote the site to Mercury.

So I guess it is clear that this is a place like no other for snowshoeing. If the destination has already so many interesting features, imagine it covered in snow. And furthermore, picture yourself exploring the area with the calmness that snowshoeing provides. It will be an unforgettable experience!

We will have lunch in a lodge, or alternatively stop for a picnic. In total we will traverse 5.5 kilometers and ascend 380 meters.

**Join me in the area of Lac Blanc to spend a splendid snowshoeing day in Le Grand Brézouard. We will be in the Vosges massif, in northeastern France.** 

The Lac Blanc is a beautiful altitude lake, at 1055 meters. And during the winter, the area surrounding the lake becomes a perfect destination for snowshoeing.

The Grand Brézouard culminates at 1229 meters. It is in fact the fourth highest summit of the Vosges, in the Haut-Rhin department. Its twin summit, the Petit Brézouard, can be found 400 meters to the northeast and reaches 1203 meters of altitude.

This day program consists of a beautiful sporty snowshoeing outing. During the trip, we will enjoy the most scenic views over the mountains and the valley of the Vosges / Alsace. The natural environment is very well preserved, making it a pleasure to spend the day here.

We can have lunch in a lodge or have a picnic in a cabin. Either way, it will be a great moment to rest halfway through the day.

The route is in total 8 kilometers long, and we will ascend 450 meters. Everything in the calm setting that only a snowshoeing day can create!

**Rising to 1099 meters, the Champ du Feu is the highest point in the Lower Rhine. I invite you to spend a fantastic day snowshoeing in this beautiful destination of Alsace.** 

The altitude thatch vegetation and curved peat bogs render it a fragile and exceptional natural area. The Champ du Feu massif is an ideal terrain for snowshoeing, as there are hills and varied landscapes, including beautiful forests that we can explore.

Its location is very convenient, being the closest ski resort to Strasbourg. It is one of my favourite destination in the Vosges. And it is also very popular for cross-country skiing.

We will stop for lunch in a lodge, and it will be the perfect time to warm up and get some rest. In total, we will walk 6 kilometers and ascend 150 meters. And if you prefer to leave for only a half-day, it is also possible. Just ask me for the details and pricing of that option.
