Description

The Sierra de Guara is a gorgeous Spanish mountain massif. Located in the province of Huesca, it is a very popular, and very memorable, natural highlight in the Aragon region. The centrepiece of the aptly named Sierra y Canones du Guara national park, the enormous massif, which stretches approximately 40 kilometres from east to west, and approximately 25 kilometres from north to south, is a true wonder. And over the course of an entire week, I would like to take you canyoning and hiking through it.

Much of the landscape of the Sierra de Guara is completely unspoiled. As a result, you will be venturing through gorges and ridges that look today just like they looked thousands of years ago!

Canyoning is a wonderful and exciting activity. And when experienced in the right conditions, in the right place, it can be a truly exhilarating and unforgettable activity. And in the Sierra de Guara, during the summer months, I believe the ingredients necessary to make this trip something special is all there.

Along with the fun you will get to have over the course of these 5 active days of the canyon, it is my goal that you also learn a great deal as well. Some of the skills we will focus on during this trip include abseiling, oppositions, slides, safety techniques, jumping, and much more. Thus ensuring your trip is as safe as it is enjoyable. Perfect to learn and progress each day with all the canyoning technics of progressions and discover some of the best itineraries of this world's canyoning spots.

So if you are looking for a week-long trip where you will get to explore a marvelous part of Spain, join me at the Sierra de Guara. With the scenery, the lessons learned, and the fun, I know you will have a great time.

I can also lead you on a family-oriented version of this trip as well. So if you want to bring the kids on a canyoning adventure in the Sierra de Guara, you can also join me here.

I am Spanish, born in Pau. I was raised following the rhythm of canyoning seasons of Sierra de Guara since the 80's, where my father, together with other pioneer guides, put together the first guide companies.

I have been a privileged witness for more than 30 years and I love this sport. I have seen it progress, the evolution of the materials and techniques, the spread around the world, and unfortunately the massification of some of them, victims of their own success... I am nevertheless interested in offering an approach of canyoning guiding that is at the same time simple, transversal and complete. Indeed, beyond safety, the sporting aspect, the commitment, the techniques and the pleasure of adrenalin, I consider it important to take our time, learn and marvel all our senses (and what can be better to do so than such a varied activity combining so many elements in sublime locations), and of course respecting the vulnerable environment that welcomes us...

My favorite canyoning sites are Sierra de Guara, the Pyrénées, Morocco, Mallorca, Slovenia and Italy, but there are also sublime spots in France, New Zealand, Latin America... and all those in my to-do list that I have yet to discover.

I really enjoyed my trip and I think I will remember it for a long time. That is untill I go back and make some new memories:) Which I am sure (and hope) will happen. I learned a lot new things there. Everyone in my group were really nice and friendly people, the only disadvantage for me was that I don't speak french and only a few of them knew some English. So  of course it would have made my trip even more enjoyable if I could communicate to everyone freely, including the guide. But even considering that we did not spreak the same language I was very happy with the guide. He gave us only things he knew we could do and made sure we felt safe at all times. He definitely did a good job on that. I have been telling everyone about this trip and saying it was one of the best I had..
