Join the local IFMGA certified guide Andreas and live 5 unforgettable days ski touring among the most outstanding points of the Hohe Tahuern National Park, including the Grossvenediger summit. An opportunity you cannot miss if you're coming to the Austrian Central Alps.
Grossvenediger or Großvenediger is the most important peak of the Venediger Mountain Group, a sub-group of summits of the Austrian Central Alps. This amazing mountain lies inside the Hohe Tauern National Park, just in the middle between Salzburg and East Tyrol.
Grossvenediger is generally considered the fourth highest mountain of Austria, although it can be the number 16 if we count every subsidiary summit of the mountain range.
This 5-day ski tour will first take us along the Dorfer Valley and then up to our comfortable mountain lodge, the Johannis Hütte.
The Zopatspitz and the Tulp Spitze peaks offer us a really varied ski touring terrain. Another option is to enjoy the high quality snow over the huge glacier fields up the 3329-meter Kristallwand summit. We can also pass by the Defreggerhaus to the Rainer Törl.
Finally, the most outstanding point of this tour is the Grossvenediger at 3667 meters of altitude. Once at the summit we will enjoy such a stunning view and have a good rest before the big moment. Now it’s time to live a breathtaking 2200m descent back down to the valley bottom!
All participants need a good prior ski touring experience as well as a strong fitness condition. Although the terrain is technically easy, keep in mind we must ascend for 5 – 7 hours each day.
I can add extra days to the program if you wish. I can also offer you a 2-day ski tour, which only includes the ascent to Grossvenediger.

We had a great time with Andreas. He is very professional and experienced guide. He provided good safety session before our trip and provided personal safety equipment for a very reasonable price. His choice of routes were correctly matched to our abilities to challenge us and provide quite an exciting time. We would never be able to experience this kind of skiing without a guide and Andi was a great choice. I would highly recommend him to any clients from a beginners to a professionals. Also I enjoyed using your site for booking guide services. You were fast and informative. Transaction was simple, transparent and rate was very competetive. Thank you
