Ski touring in Monte Matto and Argentera

Ski touring in Monte Matto and Argentera | Italy

A certified mountain guide will take you on this 6 day ski touring trip in the area of Monte Matto and Argentera, with breathtaking panoramas.

Alps

6 Days

Jan - Mar, Dec

Description

Join me in the discovery of the beautiful Monte Matto and Argentera during this ski touring trip. It is a round trip, departing from and arriving to Demonte, in Stura Valley.

Through the mythical Mount Bourel, withbreathtaking ski slopes, you enter in the high valley della Meris. The first stop is at the  DL Bianco refuge.

The following days will go up some of the major peaks of the Valle Gesso della Valletta. Through lakes and breathtaking views, always with long sunny slopes and spring snow – conditions permitting.

We climb over the Colletto di Valasco and to the super panoramic Fremamorta summit. Then we arrive in front of the Argentera. With its 3297 m of altitude, it is the highest peak of the Maritime Alps.

The Passo di Brocon, the Colle di Chiapous and Punto Nodale are gateways to a severe environment: the crossing from Argentera to Asta, where the high mountain environment is truly impressive.

Then we descended into the valley. The last stage is St. Anne Valdieri, while the last day you climb the lower part of Meris, to return to Stura Valley through the Colle della Marchiana.

Crampons and ice axes are required for this tour, which often has steep steps, grooves and ascents of the mold typically ski – mountaineering.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
