Description

If you’ve ever wondered what ski touring in the Ecrins is like, then you can’t miss this 3-day ski touring adventure. I will take you from Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans to La Bérarde and show you the top slopes in the region!

Our adventure will begin in Bourg d’Oisans from where we will transfer to La Bérarde where the real adventure begins. Every day, we will enjoy the pristine powder of the mountains of the Vénéon Valley and spend the night in a different mountain hut. We will ski in the famous La Meije (queen) and surrounding peaks.

To join this excursion you need prior ski touring experience. Additionally, it is important that you are physically fit. Of course, I will be there to help and guide you on the way.

Itinerary

Day 1: Refuge de la Selle

10:00 am meeting at the bus station of Bourg d’Oisans.
Transfer to St Christophe.
Drive to La Bérarde .
Ascent to the refuge of Selle by the Vallon du Diable.
Elevation gain: 1000 m
Overnight: Refuge de la Selle garde

Day 2: Châtelleret

Crossing the Col du Replat (3335 m).
Climb to the pass by the glacier de la Selle.
Descent to the refuge of Châtelleret (2232 m) by the glacier of Gandolière.

Overnight: Refuge du Châtelleret.

Positive elevation gain: 750 m
Negative elevation gain : 1100 m

Day 3: Return

Brèche de la Meije (3357 m).
Return to the village of La Bérarde (1713 m) back to the refuge, through the valley of Etançons.
Transfer to Bourg d’Oisans bus station at the end of the afternoon.

Positive elevation gain: 900 m
Negative elevation gain : 1500

Lightweight crampons, shoulder belt, 40-liter bag, ski touring equipment, warm clothing

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
