I invite you to join me on a ski and splitboard touring week in the Caucasus Mountains of Abkhazia, located in South Caucasus, on the eastern coast of the Black Sea. We will meet in Russia on the first day and from there we will cross the border to Abkhazia.
Together we will plunge into the nature of winter in this territory, trying national cuisine and enjoying the soft Black Sea climate with lots of snow in the spectacular Caucasus Mountains.
During this week, I will share my experience and knowledge with you, regarding avalanche safety, mountaineering techniques and skiing. Together we will find the best slopes and snow, enjoying exciting lines. The difficulty of the tours will depend on the skill level of the participants.
This program is suitable for both beginners and experienced riders, because of the the wide variety of slopes, of different complexity and length, around our base during the trip. Of course all participants must have off-piste skills.
We will be staying in comfortable huts located in the mountains. The solitude and remoteness of the place will allow you to relax from the hustle and bustle of the city life. We will spend time surrounded by nature away from civilization. Amazing sea climate with lots of snow will give you the chance to enjoy unforgettable rides.

Day 1: Russia -Transfer to camp in Abkhazia
Meeting with the guide. At 6:00, transfer to campsite (6 – 10 hours trip), with crossing of the border between Abkhazia and Russia.
Day 2 to 6: Ski touring days
7:00 – 9:00 Breakfast
9:00 – 10:00 Preparation for tours
10:00 – 16:00 Ski tour, lunch, skiing and boarding
16:00 – 20:00 Dinner, educational lectures and films
Day 7: Return to Russia
6:00 – 8:00 Breakfast, packing things up
8:00 Return trip to Russia (6 – 10 hours).

I am an IFMGA-certified guide and a KMGA avalanche expert. I have skied and climbed in different mountain regions of Russia, Asia and Europe.
I was an athlete skier and climber until I finished my career at the medical academy and got a job as medicine doctor. But after a few years working at the hospital, my love for the mountains prevailed and I have spent the last few years working in the avalanche service of Krasnaya Polyana and guiding. In addition, I finished my education as a guide, passed the exams and got a certificate as an IFMGA guide.
It will be a great pleasure for me to guide and assist you on hiking, mountaineering, climbing or skiing tours in different regions of Russia, Georgia and Kirgizstan.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
