Description

Discover the beautiful Southern French Alps with this 4-day snowshoeing program. Over these days, we will be based in Saint-Véran, the highest village in Europe! Every day, we will discover a different corner of the fabulous Queyras Regional Park. This is a great experience for which you don’t need previous experience.

For this program, we will be staying at the quaint Le Grand Tétras Hotel in the heart Saint-Véran. This accommodation counts with all the comforts that make a stay super relaxing. This includes free access to the sauna and sports room, great ways to unwind after an exciting snowshoeing day. Different type of rooms available.

On this tour, I will guide you across the impressive views of the different valleys of the Queyras. Always making a point of the importance of responsible tourism and sustainable development.

There will also be time to meet the locals and eat dinner made from local productions.

Groups on this program will be between 5 and 13 guests. Snowshoes and the safety gear will be provided by me, included in the price.

Also, you don’t need to have previous snowshoeing experience to come along on this program. The total walking time per day will be 4 to 5 hours. And the daily altitude gain will be between 300 and 600 m. You will just need to be able to carry your own small backpack for the day (30 to 40 liters recommended). Included in the price are the snowshoes, as well as security equipment (an avalanche transceiver with a shovel and a sounding line). This itinerary includes free access to the hotel’s sauna and sports room. You will also be able to eat a dinner made from local productions.

Peronal equipment required:

Backpack (recommended: 30 - 35 litres)
Waterproof hiking boots
Gaiters (if the bottom of your trousers is not long enough to keep the snow from getting into your shoes)
Hiking socks (avoid cotton)
Comfortable, warm and waterproof hiking trousers (that dry quickly)
Sports T-shirt (avoid cotton)
Warm jacket or wool jumper
Waterproof jacket
A pair of gloves (an extra pair is highly recommended)
Hat properly covering your ears
Sunglasses
Thermos flask for hot drinks (mandatory)
Plastic box and cutlery for your picnic
Sunscreen and lipstick / lip balm
Small personal emergency kit

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland.
