Description

The Staffkogel (2115 m) is definitely a worthwhile summit in the Tyrol, Austria. Indeed, the panoramic views over Kitzbühel, to the Wilder Kaiser and deep views to Saalbach Hinterglemm are impressive.

We will do the following itinerary. We follow the Wildalmgraben in the valley on the toboggan run (about 40 minutes). It's relatively flat until we continue further left, over the Staffalm (1589 m), up to the Oberreiterjoch (1860 m). Over the yoke and in a large arc, last on the Salzburger side to the summit of the Staffkogel (2116 m). From the summit, a fantastic view down into the Pinzgau, vis a vis the Venedigergruppe or the Hohentauern.

Some nearby resorts are Kitzbühel, Fieberbrunn and Saalbach-Hinterglemm. If you are in one of them during your ski trip, consider this great 1-day trip!
