Description

Running down the entirety of central Colorado, the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains is home to some incredible day hikes.

We'll focus on the area around Boulder, which is home to the Flatirons, Green Mountain and Beak Peak, among many others.

Green Mountain and Bear Peak are two particularly popular options. Sitting just southwest of Boulder, both summits are a fairly easy four to five mile hike with about 2,000 vertical feet of elevation gain.

From the top of both, we'll get great views out over the high plains as well as into the rest of the mountains.

The iconic Flatirons also make for a great day of hiking. Accessed from right nearby, you can make your way up to the top of each of them by following separate trails. Dedicated hikers can get up all three in a single day!

If you are looking for something just a bit different, then Mount Sanitas and Flagstaff Mountain are two other excellent options. Both are easily accessed and offer incredible views out into Boulder as well as the Front Range.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge.
