Mountain Guide

I'm an IFMGA-certified mountain guide member of the SNGM (Syndicat National des Guides de Montagne).
I live in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, the world capital of alpinism & ski. I have been guiding here for many years, during the summer and the winter. I also guide a lot during the winter in Megève. I have extended knowledge and expertise about the backcountry skiing area there. I also have a great passion for rock climbing which I do a lot in the South of France (Les Calanques de Marseille), all year round.

Unfortunately, we did not make it to the top due to meteorology conditions (lot of wind and snow during the ascent on Monday 7th August. However it was great experience and we have no regrets. About the organization of the ascent, just a note to say that it was a bit chaotic: 1 month before we had no guide (though we did book more than one year in advance) -> the reason for the cancelling from the previous guide was not communicated (what was the problem?) It seems the new guide was not so familiar with the administrative aspects for booking the gouter hut, or going there -> he had lot of issues to book the hut, and also I had to book the tramway du mont blanc tickets for all of us and to inform myself what to do to book the tickets. It would be great that your agency communicate more properly what the customers and the guide have to do on their own, what they are expected to do, to have a bit more guidance. Because here except than making the first contact between the guide and us, not sure what advantage there is in booking a trip with your agency....
